Always two hands

"Two hands," he says as I take my glasses.

"Always two hands to take it off. It keeps the tension equal and the glasses will last longer".

Then it is the middle of a busy day with one hand ripping off glasses while the other reaches for the next thing.

There is no time to get two hands together
and gently take them off.

And so the tension becomes unequal, in the glasses and me.
