Cornerstone habits
The person that introduced me to the idea that it is ok for me to meditate, also immediately said this: During periods when meditation is what you should be doing, you will be most resistant.
I have daily habits. Cornerstone habits. Like that very first cornerstone by which all other stones aligns, the cornerstone habits are the ones that create structure in my life.
Meditation is one of them. Journalling another.
Journalling daily means observing the day. Writing down, without any judgement, what happened on this day. Deliberately made easy and simple.
When I start to see gaps in my daily observations, I know that I am slipping. Pulling into myself, not keeping track of the world anymore.
It would be smart if I then meditated more.
What I do have now in my cornerstone habits, is an early warning system. And that is a start.
