Cue sports have this dynamic: When you are not at the table, you cannot influence the outcome of the game.

This sets up an opportunity: To treat every turn as a new slate. A starting condition from which to work. Having the opportuniy to apply and hone the skill of reaching the end state quicker and with more elegance.

This way, you are not competing with anyone.
Just playing the table as you receive it, to the best of your ability.
Then handing it back to the other to have their turn.
