Joy of doing it differently

The joy of doing the thing completely different: Especially if there is no clear benefit to either of the ways.

That joy is multiplied when it aggrieves the original do-ers of the thing. Now what has always worked before, has a new "and this also works" option.

Once there are two options, an "and this is definitely better" option will follow.
