Leaves of green
57 years on this earth walking on the outskirts of normal.
The pain I have seen him bear:
Sharing the isolation from family fighting against him.
Professional bodies slamming into him.
The loneliness of being the lightning rod for all the hurt.
Still - “Ego is a reduction of your ability to be in the moment.”
In a moment, driving down a tree-framed street he stops, alive, and exclaims in joy: “Look, all the different shades of green. See how it shifts and changes.”
I sit with him in a moment outside time.
It feels what normal is.
