Taking on roles

Once, I was identified as a professional mime. Yet most people guess accurately what my profession is.

This both amuses and annoys me: What about me lets them know?

What in my pattern of speech, bearing, expressions, dress, way of questioning, and way of being gives them the clues?

And what of that is me, and what of that did I take on?
