"Te na gekom"

In Afrikaans "people who came too close" is the literal translation for people that have caused you hurt: "Mense wat my te na gekom het".

I wonder what it causes in a group of people when in language "closeness" is equated to "hurt".

Or there may be wisdom in that, hidden to me.
I wonder what getting close, safely, can be called.
