Loss of what could be. Loss of what wants to be. And who to be.

Regicide - the killing of a king.
Pesticide - the killing of insects.

De-cide: The active, conscious act of killing off a branch. Cutting away what could be.

So that what needs to be, can become.

The act of creation requires destruction. It is painful, it is real, and it is true.
