Tool use
Some contexts in which tools get used:
In service of an outcome, a need, a goal. Clarity of what that is will make the tool-wielding more effective.
In anger: Sometimes we feel forced to to use a tool. Change the "I must" feeling into a "I choose, to because". See where that gets you to.
In play: Because the tool is shiny, and fun. The only outcome is to get to know how it works, and how to use it well.
Once you acknowledge which context the tool is being applied, the joy of using it increases.
