Tragedy plus time

"Comedy is tragedy plus time," they say. What is not specified is how much time and how to measure it.

"Comedy" used to mean a play that ends happily. A drama does not. Some find the comedy right away, and others may never get there.

I do live in the belief that all tragedy has some comedy inside it.
