Unmatched

Socks come in pairs and can be matched or unmatched. Paired things have a non-judgemental state of "being unmatched".

When people are said to be unmatched it means "better than the rest". And yet paired people are said to be "a good match". People are unmatched. That is a natural state.

These two meanings of "unmatched" do not pair up. And is unmatched.
